Marineco vessels work on many different types of contract, our crew perform a variety of duties – Anchor handling, Wind farm transfers, towing, dredging and ship to ship transfers to name but a few. We also work internationally, so you could be in the UK one week and Germany or Dubai the next! At Marineco UK we have a strong tradition of in-house training and promoting from within, the majority of our Masters and Chief officers started as deckhands on our vessels. We also offer the opportunity for long term AB’s, Mates and Masters to attend STCW 95 training courses as required.
Marineco UK are not currently looking to recruit Masters or Chief officers, but our requirement can change at short notice. Our ideal candidate would have the MCA Issued 200gt or above and all other relevant valid STCW 95 documentation. Masters should have at least 3 yrs. experience on a Shoalbuster, Multicat, or Windfarm vessel. A fishing background is also Full time employment on 5 weeks on 5 weeks off basis (4 on off inside Europe) with competitive salary and annual bonus. Our Vessel Masters and Skippers form the backbone of our company, and have a wide scope of skills and duties. Aside from being in command of the vessel, they also supervise and organise crew, observe, and where applicable, implement company policies and procedures. They carry out drills and musters, perform safety checks, ensure paperwork and documentation is up to date, liaise with the head office and many other managerial tasks.
Engineers and Deckhands
Our Deckhands are also a vital part of our company. They work together with the Masters to form an integrated team, where communicating and following directions are crucial to the safe and efficient running of our vessels. Our Engineers, as well as attending to the engines, also assist the Master or Deckhands when required. They are dedicated and valuable members of our crew, and have a range of skills that enables them to adapt to any task.
We currently offer two cadet schemes – Deck Officer and Engineer Officer. Marineco UK is proud to offer a cadet training scheme through Clyde Marine Training – http://www.clydemarinetraining.com. We offer at least one position per year, for either Deck or an Engineering cadetship.
